I keep rereading the instructions and watching the samples. I think I just need to make a decision! I think I might go with Science Fair because I would most likely use it and it is a huge obstacle for me. I suppose anything I can conjure up that could make the process simpler must be a must. I have access to most of the documents I have created here at home, the amount of information online is unlimited...Hmmm.
I completely understand your reluctance to undertake this project: I'd like just a bit more direct instruction. (No offense intended, Vaughn, if you are reading along...) I'm sure that the openness is intended to encourage creativity, but for the more linear thinkers among us, a few markers along the way would be helpful.
ReplyDeleteOn second thought, expectations for the final product would be really helpful. Length, for example, number of images or video clips, which of the 23 or 12 things we've used in the past to include, stuff like that.
As for you and me, sister, I think we'd better keep our genetic tendency toward overcomplicating in mind. What is it that Dad has posted over his desk? Something about keeping it simple? (Although I think he has added to the aphorism, making it more complicated... See what I mean?)
Your science fair idea sounds good and would definitely be useful -- anything to lighten the weight of that burden -- but, on the other hand, I'd bet that you could modify what you've already created from Coal Camp and make a really neat promotional video for next year's teachers. I'd bet that would earn you some kind of camper's award! (Is there a Coal Camp Song, by the way? "Oh glorious bit of bitmus, oh fossil fuel divine, created through the ages, just waiting to be mined..." )
I'll try to get a good bit of my movie done by the morning and post what I've done thus far to my blog. By the way, I hate the way my voice sounds when recorded!
